Winemaking
The grapes come from selected vineyard parcels with more fruit-driven aromas. The grapes are hand-picked, destemmed, and gently crushed into a press. The juice is allowed to settle naturally over 12 to 24 hours without additives. Fermentation takes place between 14 and 16 Celsius, with regular mixing. After fermentation, the wine stays on fine fermentation lees for four months.
Composition
- 85% Sauvignon Blanc
- 14% Sémillon

“Riandri Visser’s first standalone vintage is a cracker. The Cape Point Isliedh is a benchmark South African white and the 2017 is one of the finest to date. Buchu, spice, florals and good fruit concentration are underpinned by a fine acidity with a saline, lingering finish. A greater degree of Sémillon adds gravitas to the 2017; similar to the best ageing vintages of the past.”
